
Episode 17 from 2012 finishes up our long investigation into the early recordings of Sonny Rollins, closing with the Sonny Rollins Quintet with Kenny Dorham on Prestige in 1956 and the Sonny Rollins Trio sessions in Los Angeles in 1957 for Contemporary Records with Shelley Manne on drums and Ray Brown on bass for the album titled Way Out West.
