Ancestor Worship 69: Bags And Trane

We’ve got a bg treat for our listners to start off the new year of 2013: A serial investigation of the recorded works of John Coltrane from his signing with Atlantic Records at the beginning of 1959 for an indeterminate number of weks in all but certainly for the full month of January, starting with his first Atlantic release, Bags & Trane, for which he shared billing with vibraphonist Milt Jackson accompanied by Hank Jones on piano, Percy Heath on bass , and drummer Connie Kay, recorded in New York City on January 15, 1959.
