Beyond The Groove Yard 193: Bat’s Blues

George Klein presents recordings by clarinetist Alvin Batiste, who combined New Orleans roots with an advanced modern approach. He is heard with fellow modernists Ellis Marsalis, Harold Battiste & Ed Blackwell in the American Jazz Quintet, as a sideman with Henry Butler, and as leader of several sessions on the India Navigation, Columbia, and Marsalis Music record labels.
