This episode of Jazz Lunatique was produced by David Kunian for the Overnight Jazz program and originally broadcast on WWOZ-FM in New Orleans during the Louis Armstrong Festival in August 2001 in commemoration of Pops’ life-long devotion to marijuana smoking and featuring reefer music from Louis, Kermit Ruffins, Fats Waller, Ray Charles, the Dizzy Gillespie Orchestra, John Sinclair with Ed Moss’ Hot 5, Sidney Bechet, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers, and Ms. Billie Holiday.
