Jazz Lunatique 238: Gris Gris

David Kunian is memorializing the late Mac Rebennack this week with his signature tune, a long recording of the Dr. playing piano and talking with producer Jerry Wexler in a recording studio in 1972 that led to their collaboration on the album called Gumbo, plus the Wade—Hurricane Suite that was the Dr.’s musical response to Hurrican Katrina, and capped with a birthday salute to the progranmer’s dad by the Beatles.
