David Kunian is contnuing his annual celebration of the birth of James Carroll Booker III in 2014 with filmmaker Lily Keeber, director of the recent James Booker documentary, using Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite as background music in honor of the holidays, and playing recordings by James Booker in solo performance, with his own bands, and backing up Lars Edegran, Little Richard, Art Neville, and Huey “Piano” Smith & The Clowns with Mack Rebennack, and a live BBC recording of “Gonzo.”
