Episode 1044 is coming from the Edo Ramen & Sushi Lounge, an art gallery and restaurant in Royal Oak MI where I’m performing some blues with jeff Grand on guitar to open up Robert Jr. Whitall’s historic art exhibit of his creative works depicting musicians and other countercultural figues. For my radio program tonight I’m going to present an hour of music taken from a couple of the early editions of Robert Jr.’s Big City Rhythm & Blues magazine’s blues sampler CDs, #s4 & 8, with selections by Robert Jr. Whitall, Kenny Brown With Little Freddie King, Mahajibee, Clarence Fountain, Mr. Tater, Preston Shannon, Diedra Hurdle, Steve Johnson, Liz Mandeville, John Sinclair & His Motor City Blues Scholars, Smokey Greenwell, Alexis P. Suter, Linsey Alexander, Reverend Robert Sexton, and Julia Magness & The Original Bells of Joy.
