Episode 965 is coming from Radio Free Amsterdam headquarters in Detroit’s Cass Corridor with music from the Detroit Artists Workshop of nearly 60 years ago with several unreleased selections by the Detroit Contemporary 4 and several more by its successor, the Contemporary Jazz Quintet (CJQ), all featuring trumpeter Charles Moore and drummer Danny Spencer, with pianist Kenny Cox featured with the CJQ in their Blue Note Records debut.
