John Sinclair Radio Show 758: The Big D

Episode 758 is coming from the Radio Free Amsterdam studios in Detroit’s Cass Corridor, where I continue to be holed up and healing from my many negative physical issues in my old age, but I’m starting to get a clean bill of health from my doctors with only one more cataract surgery next week and a breathing test to follow next month. Last week I played a cut by Dennis Coffey with the Lyman Woodard Trio from a recent album called Hot Coffey In The D released under Dennis’s name but in reality a live recording of the Lyman Woodard Trio with Melvin Davis on drums, Woodard on Hammond B-3 and Coffey on guitars, recorded live at Morey Baker’s Showplace Lounge in 1968. Here’s the remainder of the album, courtesy of Leni Sinclair, produced by Coffey and Mike Theodore and issued on Resonance Records. Plus there’s another cut featuring the late great drummer Jabo Starks with James Brown and his orchestra, just so we won’t forget how great he was!
