John Sinclair Radio Show 749: But Beautiful

Episode 749 is coming from the Radio Free Amsterdam studios at 55 Peterboro in Detroit’s Cass Corridor, where I’ve just returned from New Orleans this week after a short stop in Chicago to see my dear friend Fritz Keilsmeier on my way home and now I’m planning to stay here in the D until well into May while I continue to deal with my several physical issues at the nearby Detroit Medical Center under the care of my splendid primary doctor Muhammad Kang at the Rosa Parks Geriatric Clinic and take care of some pressing public obligations coming up, like the 8th annual THC EXPO at the Roostertail this weekend, the 2nd annual Detroit Caregivers Cup there on Sunday, and the upcoming 47th annual Hash Bash at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Plus my close friend and comrade, the great poet and tenor saxophonist Elliott Levin is coming to Detroit from his home in Philadelphia this week and we’ll be playing together Sunday night at the Trisophenes club in Detroit and at Ziggy’s in Ypsilanti on Tuesday night, so this program will feature some of the music we’ve made together in years past, like in London with my Blues Scholars at our Obama Inauguration Party at the Café Oto in January 2009 and in New York City with a band called Hollow Bones with the blistering tenor saxophonist Ras Moshe joining Elliott in the front line.
