ADDHIGH PRIEST ELLIS FROM JAMAICA & RAS TARIQ FROM AMSTERDAM COLLABORATE ON A NEW SINGLE “CALL UPON JAH NAME”
The late Jamaican Reggae musician High Priest Ellis and Amsterdam Hip Hop artist Ras Tariq release a great musical collaboration entitled “Call upon Jah name”. The new record is a crossover combination of Ellis’ uplifting singing and Tariq’s conscious lyrics. Fusing musical elements of Reggae and Hip Hop, Call upon Jah name features lyrical themes concerning spirituality, culture and unity. The riddim is produced by Sinima Beats.
High Priest Ellis, born Pixley Ennis, died in a killer crash in the Westmoreland district in Jamaica at the end of last year. He started singing in the 80’s and throughout his life he linked-up with a lot of Rastafari brethrens and musicians like Sizzla, Capleton, Junior Reid and many more. He got a call from Rastafari in 1991 and went to Bobo camp in 9miles – Bullbay St. Andrew, Jamaica, where he served as Priest. But his mission never ended; so he continued on his musical journey to uplift the nations.
