THE GROOVE YARD 189 – NUTVILLE

George Klein presents the first hour of a two-part focus on tenor saxophonist Tina Brooks’ 1950s & ’60s Blue Note recordings as leader, with sidemen including Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Clark, Duke Jordan, Doug Watkins, Sam Jones, Art Blakey, and Art Taylor. Of the two recording sessions, only True Blue was released; Minor Move was not. Source for these sessions is the Mosaic boxed set of The Complete Tina Brooks Blue Note Recordings.
