George Klein presents the final hour of his multi-part Duke Ellington investigation with music from three late-career Ellington suites: Far East Suite (1966), Latin American Suite (1968), and New Orleans Suite (1970). Orchestra star alto saxophonist Johnny Hodges died before the recording session was complete, but he can be heard on “Blues for New Orleans), where he was joined by his old partner, Wild Bill Davis, on organ.
